DBSA Information Unit's KMAfrica.com finalist in the Investing in the Future 2009 award
The DBSA Information Unit was last week recognised as a finalist in the Mail & Guardian 2009 Investing in the Future Awards in the Company Partnership section for the KMAfrica.com KnowledgeHub portal.
“We are delighted to be a finalist in the Investing in the Future Awards” said Gordon Coburne of the DBSA Information Unit. “The recognition of KMAfrica, along with feedback from our members confirms that our strategy of building features and content to meet the expectations for Africa's Knowledge Community is working and that increasing numbers of KM practitioners are making the connection with each other”.
KMAfrica KnowledgeHub provides Africa's Knowledge community with new ways to participate. KnowledgeHub delivers a mix of forums, resources and conference papers that encourage members to engage in complex conversations while stimulating stronger connections and networks. The topics and resources represent a range of cross-cutting knowledge and insights that evoke the appropriate actions transforming vision into reality.
KnowledgeHub is designed to provide much of what you'd find at a live KMAfrica conference including formal papers, special interest Groups (SIGs), resources and informal conversations between sessions. KnowledgeHub is a community platform for knowledge creators in African colleges and universities to role-model knowledge sharing using social media. There is know-how that helps expand the role of libraries in communities and KM professionals can keep current with a network of consultants and academics. Knowledge entrepreneurs will find useful know-how and ideas. It is by growing connections that communities emerge that make innovation and breakthrough possible.
